No need to worry... our house will not be this green gray color you are currently seeing where the stucco goes. This is just the underneath layer of cement they put on that has to set up and cure before they can put the colored stucco on.
In this picture, you can see the parts that are dry, and the parts that aren't. We had a rainstorm hit for a few days right after this stage, so it took a little longer to dry than usual.
The light gray is where it is dry, the darker is where it still needs to cure.
Several neighbors passing by asked us if this was the color of our house. We assured them it wouldn't be gray. Some of them actually getting used to the color and thought it would look nice. Little did they know that it would be a dark brown and might take them even longer to get used to!
If you look at the bottom of our house in this picture, you can see that we still have not put in the basement windows... we ended up making a special trip to Utah with my dad's truck (THANK YOU DAD!) to pick up the windows and window wells, but now we had to wait until the scaffolding was down to put them up.
I kept thinking about all the extra dirt and bugs getting into the house each day that we didn't have the basement windows up.... luckily it wasn't that bad and I haven't seen many bugs in the basement. We put up some leftover wood pieces to try and minize the mess on the inside.
Now onto the color! No more boring black and gray!
