As you can see, we had a LOT of backfilling to do in the front of our house. This picture shows where our front porch will be (right side of cement) and the yard to the left of it. We had to backfill clear to the top of this cement, and compact it every 12 inches to make sure the dirt wouldn't settle and crack the porch.
We rented the backhoe (AGAIN) and went to work! Carson started dumping dirt while I picked up all the trash here in front of the garage.

And here it is! The finished result! The land is backfilled high enough in front and the porch is ready for flatwork! Woohoo!
