Plumbing Backfill

After we had gotten the rough plumbing in, we had some huge deep holes that we had to cover up for the framers and the flatwork. Because frost reaches six feet deep up here, we had to dig down pretty low for the plumbing. Carson took his boy toy and went to work on backfilling all the uncovered pipes.
We had some sand delivered so we could cushion the pipes before we dump the rocky dirt in. That way none of the rocks damaged the pipes as they were thrown in with the backhoe.
I would rake each dump out as Carson grabbed more dirt for another load. We also got some backfilling done around the sides and the house, but not all of it. That is for another post!

If you compare this with the first picture on this post, you can see how high he had to backfill up the cement wall! Thank goodness for big machinery that make the job easy!
