What's In A Name?

We went through several names for our pup, but none seemed to fit! The family we got her from called her "Big Brown" because she was the biggest out of her siblings and had a hint of brown in her fur. Because of this, Carson thought about calling her BB, but that didn't have enough femininity to it for me. We thought about cocoa, brownie, and my personal favorite, fudge.... she has such a pretty coat that reminded me of anything chocolate! We had heard that it's easier for your dog to learn their name if it has two or three syllables and doesn't sound like a command such as "sit" or "stay," and since naming your dog after something you eat didn't sound too convincing, Carson came up with a great one! The official name is....

LAYLA! Yes, Muhammad Ali's daughter is named Layla, but I'm pretty sure she spells it different... and there's nothing wrong with a female puppy being named after a female boxer! Maybe she'll grow up to be strong and beat the boys next door-- the size of her paws sure seem to be promising!Big ol' paws on that pup!
Any of you that know my husband know that he LOVES to take care of anything he owns. He can spend five hours (or more) detailing and cleaning a car. This is such a great attribute to have in a hubby, and I'm grateful he loves to be clean and wants to keep things lookin' brand spankin' new! Here's Layla washing the cars with Carson. Layla kept getting in the way, but it was fun to let her enjoy a "car washing" experience!

Dancing with Carson. The freaky-eyed club-- and the extremely good lookin' man!

We taught her how to "sit," and now she does it anytime she thinks she is getting a treat... the only bad thing is that she bites our hands thinking our fingers are food.

Vicki told Carter all about your dog, and now he is dying to see her. She looks like a good helper with the car washing!

She's adorable! That puppy stage is so much fun but a pain too. Goodluck with house training! ;)
